Surrounded by the Lyngen Alps
Arriving at the base you will be greeted by the happy barking and howling of our 30+ Alaska Husky!
Before setting off on our adventure we will make sure you are properly dressed according to the day’s temperature and weather. If not, we will provide you with a winter-insulated suit and boots, hats and mittens if needed. We recommend wearing a base layer like a merino wool long sleeved shirt and leggings (long underwear), then add a mid-layer like a wool or fleece sweater and pants. On top, add a wind-resistant parka/jacket and snow/ski pants.
Once everyone is dressed, we will head outside where our staff will show you how to drive the sled. If the weather is good, you are welcome to join us in harnessing and preparing the dog teams. You will be two people on each sled, one starts as driver and the other as a passenger, we will stop halfway through and help you switch who is the driver and passenger. We will also assist you in taking photos of you and your dog team.
